Don 2 Vs. Mission Impossible

Ooh, Shahrukh Khan may have some competition brewing?! Who can give Bollywood’s Badashah competition? Or should we say who dares to mess with the Don?

The answer is Tom Cruise. Tom created a massive buzz in India while he visited recently to promote his film Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol which releases in India on the 16th and the US on the 21st.

While it’s true that no one is more famous in India for cinema other than Shahurukh Khan at the moment, there are a massive number of Tom Cruise fans in India, and if they dig MI:4, Shahrukh khan may be in some trouble. Continue reading →

‘Don 2′ will touch upon Don’s past: Farhan Akhtar

Director Farhan Akhtar, whose sequel to ‘Don’ is set to hit the screens this month, says he decided to make the film because it gave him a lot of freedom to explore the character in the action-thriller format.
The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, which is more sleek and better in terms of story and technology, was easy to make, says Farhan, adding he was free to make up the story, which was not possible with the first film, a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 movie of the same name.

“I had lot of freedom because the audience is already familiar with the character. Don’s past is not known and this film will briefly touch upon that because he is what he is because of the environment he was born into it. We are also coming up with a comic book, which is a prequel to ‘Don’ and talks in detail about Don’s past,” said Akhtar, who was here to launch the look of the film at the ongoing Dubai Film Festival. Comic book prequel to upcoming Don 2

A NEW comic book prequel has been launched in time for the screen debut of Bollywood action movie sequel Don 2.

The comic was unveiled at Mumbai’s first ever Comic Con Express, held at the city’s World Trade Centre earlier this month.

It will bring audiences up to date on the first film, which came out in 2006 and was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 cult hit of the same name. Continue reading →

Bollywood supremo Shahrukh Khan once again is entering the realm of virtual superheroes with the launch of the DON 2 video game alongside the movie. India’s one of the largest game services company is developing a game for the most awaited action thriller of 2011, Excel Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment’s Bollywood hit DON 2, scheduled to be released in the UK on 21st December 2011.

The buzz and anticipation in this super successful franchise is the realistic elements to the iconic characters. The service company is developing a third-person action adventure console game where a player gets to play as Shahrukh Khan himself, perform the activities as Don and experience the breathtaking moments of the movie in an interactive space, with the various characters from the movie including Priyanka Chopra’s character Roma. SRK falters in the first leg of his Don 2 promo tour

Shah Rukh Khan’s promotional tour for his upcoming movie Don 2 received a set back on Tuesday when the superstar was not allowed to fly to Patna because of security issues. Shah Rukh was supposed to commence his promotional campaign by interacting with fans at a mall in Patna.

Khan who has never ever visited the city before, was excited to go there and had even made all the preparations for it. “Was super excited with my first ever visit to Patna but distt authorities said sum security issue. Will come sum other time. Damn..!!! Bags packed… plane ready… my bihari accent was also being worked upon. Feel awful couldn’t make it… but insha Allah will go there soon (sic),” SRK tweeted.

The countdown for Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Don 2: The King Is Back’ has begun and director Farhan Akhtar reveals that the multi-city promotional tour will begin Dec 12.
