After Hollywood, the 3D bug seems to have bitten Bollywood as well. Don 2, the sequel to the Shahrukh Khan starrer Don, is set to be released in 2D as well as 3D formats for those with the benefit of binocular vision. Shot around the world in countries including Germany, Malaysia, and Switzerland, including of course, India, Don 2, also known as Don 2: The King Is Back, is the sequel to the hit movie Don: The Chase Begins Again, which in itself was a remake of the original Don starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
The new trailer lets you view the movie in 2D as well as 3D, when you click on the 3D button present next to the resolution selector. For those with a 3D display, the trailer is available in full colour at up to 1080p high definition in lmost all different 3D viewing formats including side-by-side, interleaved, etc. Those without a 2D display need not worry as you can still watch it in 3D using anaglyph (red and blue) glasses, albeit at the loss of some colour information.
The Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has roped in an S-3D expert with experience of working on Avatar and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Since the movie has not been shot using 3D cameras, you should not expect too much. Don 2 will be launched soon on 23 December, 2011. So grab your 3D gear and check out the trailer below to find out if the 3D is really worth the expense and effort.
