SRK fans rejoice! We recently reported that the sequel to Farhan Akhtar’s Don was postponed without a definite date but we now have confirmation that a date has been set for when the film will go to the floor, January 2010. The film had run into scheduling problems with star Shah Rukh being tied up with Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan but now it seem all the kinks in scheduling are worked out.

Producer for Excel Entertainment Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed the story to the Mumbai Mirror saying, “We start shooting Don 2 in January 2010. The entire film will be shot in Berlin and Ireland. Now that we know that Vijay is dead and Shah Rukh is just Don in the film, the remaining part of the story is going to be very interesting.” (more…)
There is sad news for those waiting for the Don 2 sequel directed by Farhan Akhtar, it has been postponed. Farhan has had to push the dates back because SRK is busy with Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan. “With Shah Rukh’s dates being a problem now, I don’t know when I’ll be able to start Don 2. I’m very clear that it will be made only with Shah Rukh and Priyanka Chopra. Let’s see when it happens,†Farhan said.
So what will the actor/producer/director/TV host be doing instead? He will be acting in his third film Kartik Calling Kartik. And signed to star opposite his is the actress of the moment Deepika Padukone! The film, which goes to the floor in April is a psychological thriller directed by newcomer Vijay Lalwani. (more…)

Finally we have confirmation that the sequel to the Shah Rukh Khan’s Don will be coming; however it is not soon. Director Farhan Akhtar has not only said that yes it is true there will be a Don 2 but that it will start shooting next year!

Chandra Barot, the director of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Don’, has been toying with the idea of making a comeback after 30 years. Barot claims that he even has a script ready. So, what’s stopping him?
“Where are the actors?” he grouses. “All the big names have signed multi-crore deals with corporate houses. And even the lesser known actors are not available.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s date-book is so packed that he is scrambling for dates to shoot for Farhan Akhtar’s sequel to Don, the shooting of which was supposed to start in January next year. The film, as of now, has been delayed.
Shah Rukh, who is currently on vacation in London, has a packed schedule when he returns to India. He will start shooting for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as soon as he lands in Mumbai and then he will be busy with Priyadarshan’s Billoo Barber.
After the above two films are over, Karan Johar has booked Shah Rukh’s dates for My Name is Khan and then he will be busy with his own production Happy New Year which is to be directed by Farah Khan. (more…)
After speculations, it is finally revealed that Priyanka Chopra has been signed to play the lead again opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2. Not just Priyanka, even Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani have been signed on to play key roles in the film.
We contacted producer Ritesh Sidhwani, who confirmed the news. He said, “Yes Priyanka has been signed opposite Shah Rukh in Don 2. It is a sequel obviously and when we locked the story and the screenplay, we knew that we needed Priyanka for the film. Similarly, we have also signed on Boman Irani and Arjun Rampal.” (more…)
